Prima uses technical communications expertise to help Haitian orphanage and community
When a West Michigan missionary delegation travels to Haiti in February, they will bring with them templates for medicine cards designed and donated by Prima. The cards provide simple graphics and text to make it easy for lay people to diagnose ailments and then distribute medication at the orphanage in Les Cayes, Haiti. Prima’s experience in developing easily understood graphic procedures makes us ideally suited for communicating these key concepts across cultural and language barriers.
“Part of Prima’s corporate mission is to support charitable works in our community,” said Charlotte Hubbard, Prima’s owner and CEO. “We especially love being able to use our communications talents in that capacity.”
Working under the auspices of the Caribbean Children’s Foundation, the missionaries plan to build a small worship gathering place and set up medical clinics to serve the orphanage and the community of Les Cayes. Thirteen people from five different churches in the Grand Rapids area will spend nearly two weeks in Haiti to get the projects going.
